Aftermarket oil pressure sensor gauge on dodge neon (1995)?

when i turn the keep and the car on, the gauge just sits at the 100 (the max on the gauge)

i havent drove it or anything, but shouldnt it be lower than this?

what would cause this? it is grounded to the body of the car.Aftermarket oil pressure sensor gauge on dodge neon (1995)?
Have you hooked up the gauge's sending unit? The gauge is ground through the sending unit. So having the sending unit installed will ground the gauge.

I found out that tidbit of info when I installed an Autometer digital oil pressure gauge. I was testing the gauge's light. It would do anything until I had the sending unit installed.

Part of my gauge install, I used an oil block from one of my turbo shadow's motors. I bought a few adapters to the oil block would thread into the motor. Then another adapter to allow me to keep using the OEM sending unit and my autometer sending unit. This way I don't lose the idiot light function.

If you installed the sending unit, where did you install it? Did you just replace the OEM sensor. Did you tee off that spot? Or did you use oil port in the back side of the cylinder head?Aftermarket oil pressure sensor gauge on dodge neon (1995)?
Yes the oil pressure should be lower while the engine is running. You may have a faulty oil pressure sensor or a faulty oil pressure gauge. Most likely the sensor is bad.
