The oil pressure gauge backs off a little when i come to a stop. Wondering if i need to replace the oil pressure sensor??? Or is there a problem inside the instrument cluster??Just changed oil on 4.3l Chevy P/U. while driving the oil pressure gauge is pegged. Oil pressure sensor????

oil press sending unit back of intake manifold like the first guy said oil filter clogged can cause greater oil pressure
ck wire, your sensor is measuring resistance by ground wire, if you have a bad sensor or wire is grounded out it will peg, just like fuel sensor, if the wire grounds out it will show full all the time, if wire comes off it shows empty.
