87 sportster; no oil to upper end and no oil pressure at the sensor?

I used to get 25 lbs of pressure cold and 5 hot on my 87 sporty. I am now getting zero and no apparent oil to the top end. A while back I did some repair that required the gear cover to be removed, I put the cover back on with the wrong gasket and lost oil pressure. I put a good gasket back on and have not been able to get oil pressure sense, replaced the oil pump, there is oil getting back to the reservoir -can see bubbling. Tried oil pressure at the filter and between the tapits - nada. You can see oil moving physically out of the pump to the filter and back into the pump at the pump fittings. With the gauge disconnected from the gauge hoses - coming from the oil filter, oil runs out, but not between the tapits where there is a pipe plug. I have blowing air through everything I can think of and nothing appears to be plugged. New oil pump, the right cam cover gasket, new oil, no major leaks still not nada. I'm not sure if I'm doing this post correctly but I haven't ridden my bike in over a year, can't afford to send it to a shop. Any help would be appreciated.87 sportster; no oil to upper end and no oil pressure at the sensor?
Does your';good';gasket have the propper hole for the oil passage that flows through it?87 sportster; no oil to upper end and no oil pressure at the sensor?
If you have everything put together right. Oil should go from the pump to the check valve. Thru the oil pressure regulating valve. Then onto the tappet oil screen and to a crankcase passage. Thru the cam shaft gear cover passage, to the pinion shaft bushing and lower connecting rod bearings.

If any of those valves or the screen is plugged you will not get any oil.
sounds like there may be a mix up in the hoses, oil is going from the pump to the tank, when it should be going through the engine first, then to the tank, something stinks in denmark.
