1994 buick regal custom 3800 the oil is leaking bad at what i think is the oil pressure senosor unit about 1 lt a week only leaks when engine going. engine runs well no odd sounds. oil pressure gauge does not work nothing to do with this . how much do you think it will cost to fix this and what do you think the problem is
again the leak is above the oil filter not at it and from the manual pics i think it is at or near the oil pressure sending unit.Oil leak at or near oil pressure sensor unit.?
Get up off your wallet, and stop playing monkey wrench mechanic! Or get a bus pass, soon! From what I see you can't do it yourself. Stick to insulting, those who ask the questions!Oil leak at or near oil pressure sensor unit.?
Replace the oil pressure sensor, there about $40.00 @ the dealer.
Those have been known to leak a little, then it turns into a BIG oil leak. Enough to pump your motor dry and kill stuff.
Usually they are easy to change if you can reach them. Put a little teflon tape around the new one and screw it in snug.
Replace the sensor/sending unit. When these parts age they tend to leak before they go bad altogether.Since itsa 1994 I'm sure that's the case with you.Just replace the unit before the sender goes bad itself or you get a nasty oil leak they'll run your car low on oil.
take it to a mechanic
