Petroleum engineering and oil?

to pertoleum engineers only work with oil? Do they work with any other enegery resources, in stead of oil companies? I wanted to know because I was interested about this major but I don't want to be stuck in one type of field.Petroleum engineering and oil?
Petroleum Engineers deal primarily with oil and gas.

In a nutshell, depending on the specifics of the job, one may deal with drilling, transportation (pipelines), enhanced recovery via chemical, fracturing or other means and production.

It is a very challenging field, requires good mathematical and chemistry skills.

Most petroleum engineers are hired by oil (or, petroleum) companies and this is the best time in decades to study petroleum engineering.

Graduates from top schools like UT and OU are now starting at about 100 K.

I strongly suggest that if you give this field a good look; it may turn out to be the best decision of your life.Petroleum engineering and oil?
There are some chemical engineers that work as petroleum engineers.

LSU at one time had a degree program where you could get a degree in both chemical and petroleum engineering at the same time.

The double degree would give you more latitude in career choices.
